The mind needs to be serving the emotions. Not the other way around. When the emotions are subject to the whims of the mind, then there's trouble. On the other hand, emotional impulses are well served by the mind that it willing to submit to them and quite unpredictable otherwise. Not to get off on a sexist thing but men tend to have more trouble with the emotions that control their mind and women tend to have more trouble with using their mind to control their responses to emotional impulses. Other things being equal...That's why women are better suited, in general, for the inner marriage. They are more in tune with their emotions and this aspect is more fundamental than the intellect. It's much better to have a more fully developed emotional skill set, than an intellectual skill set, for the purposes of self development. Everyone needs both but emotional skills are more fundamental, more important and should be developed first. See Maslow.

Yes...there is the idea of an emotional IQ which is not the same as an intellectual IQ...it would be interesting to look into the ways they are interrelated.
One could probably do a flow diagram similar to Timothy Leary's emotional mandala.

FEEDING THE FIG TREE 
The rise of the patriarchial meme took off with the advent of the written word, for the “story” of a patriocentric universe under “God the Father” could be spread in “holy” books. But because this unbalanced system is built on a lie and requires unconsciousness and blind obedience to uphold, men are just as much slaves under this system, even as they appear to have the upper hand. Men also must forgo their Muse and their soul vocation in order to accumulate social status and the economic power to maintain their control. Under this threat, shame and curse based system, and the trauma that it produces with its subtle and overt violence against life, the center of “self” in the brain doesn’t switch on very brightly. It is through this “self-center” that we as individuals can integrate and know ourselves and interrelate in a healthy fashion. Without a strong pilot center we remain “outer directed” and vulnerable to the dictates of the obvious and subliminal codes of society. Through a sophisticated media machine the corporate oligarchy can then “play upon” a spiritually disenfranchised population on a countrywide and even global scale. Heal the wound of deprivation through the growth of the sovereign brain and there is a chance of developing a human civilization that is built on geometric growth in awareness, humaneness, original creativity and spiritual freedom.

The great lie of the negative father archetype is a symptom of the exploitive cultural practices that diminish the lifeforce and reduce health and wholeness. This can be symbolized and observed as a weak and infirm old man, riddled with disease who has lost touch with feeling, eros, relatedness, creativity, compassion and love. Because of this dissociation from the lifeblood of cosmic unity, the unconscious drive for power by brute forcce leads to the calcification of consciousness around a core of fragile internal weakness. The love avoidance necessary to uphold the dominant position thus becomes an obstacle to the growth and development of consciousness.  The antidote to the calcified negative power systems is that they can be made obsolete through the resurgence of the new vital and “real” creative energies of Eros. We have no need to bring the fossilized power systems down, for they are already dying from within.

As humans gathered together in larger and larger groups, those with the skills for dominance could accumulate great wealth, power and property through the joint efforts of a pliant population. Systems of dominance and persuasion were created over thousands of years that built up enormous karmic force and infiltrate all aspects of our lives right down to the cellular functioning level. Till now we have tended to blindly go along with this doctrine of subordination, because we had not become adequately conscious of the nature of the constraints that bind us. Once we are determined to make the tendrils of the power pyramid conscious, we can then free ourselves both from subservience and from rebellion to the overarching force of the culture of war and profit. With a vision of a vastly more advanced soul inspired culture, we can intend the transformation of global civilization and collectively work toward that end. In order to hold our own in mass culture, we need to start an artistic and philosophical revolution for the advocacy of real humans within the belly of the beast. We need a school of thought and education around the notion of the sovereignty IQ of the liberated soul of the full human.

The deep jungle realization is that the beast of our lower human nature devours civilizations. Civilizations are lost through the beast lerking within. The current romanticization of abuse and violence in popular movie culture, speaks to the fragility of civilization against the destructive powers of fear and greed. To move forward we have to turn our back on the centralized-power extortion methods that would have us starving in a world of plenty. Given full reign the Beast will eat up everything within its grasp and turn everything to radioactive dust. The age-old greed machine cannot be stopped, but it can be made obsolete, by creating a groundswell of smart-technologies through which centralized-power extortion systems become a thing of the past. But it means a new kind of warriorship. It means allowing the Beast to run its own course, and to put all ones energy into building the new way under the feet of the Beast without direct confrontation. Working collectively and incrementally to promote change through the hundredth monkey effect. Building our permaculture utopias with ultimate generosity and cooperation toward the Good. Generating sanity, order and regenerating the earth. Building energy, abundance and reveling in the beauty of nature. Marveling in the intricacies and efficiencies of goodness. Perhaps morphogenically seeding the idea and intent in the Universal Mind that higher conscious communal life is possible. Thus returning the species to a more benign and life-friendly state in which Reality, Truth and Life-force are easily palpated throughout every moment of our days.

No, because the universal mind itself is contaminated by these problems. This is a systemic issue; it’s highly delocalized. There is no quick fix. Today’s ‘smart technology’ will likely turn out to be tomorrows ‘ecological nightmare’. In fact, the preoccupation with expedients and quick fixes is primarily what got us into this mess. The patience of Job is required. The first step is to accept the predicament and attain a perspective that allows us to shed our negativity. Nothing can be done as long as we’re indignant and prone to descend into blistering rants of unbridled negativity. That’s how we got here and more of it will only make the situation worse. My new strategy is to stay away from anything that I cannot approach with patience, deference and humility. I won’t even look at it. It’s not there. I call it the ‘ostrich approach.’ Bad as it is, it beats giving my brain a stress bath on a continual basis. Then gradually, I should be able to face down even the most repulsive evils without batting an eye. Crawl, then walk, then run.

The bottom line of the cult of disenfranchisement is that our authority, our orthodoxy, our sovereignty, our divinity and our confirmation of worth must be "bestowed" by some higher ranking mortal and not by ones own personal connection to the divine. If we have whole individuals, of great confidence and self-license then the politioeconomic systems of exploitation and abuse of populations will fail...and humanity will be free of the parasite that grows on its broken and lower natures.

Machinations of Power Imbalance Under the Reign of the Negative Father Archetype:
• Thought stopping contradictions, illogic and insults that undermine a sense of a rational universe and establish verticality in social structures.
• Alternating flattery and mockery to break confidence and undermine resourcefulness and independence.
• Without an aware self-center morality has no foundation or soul. Instead we are concerned with observing proprieties and living in accordance to the expectation of others.
• Shock-trauma to the brain reduces the center of self through which the sense of truth, conscience and consequence are generated to establish the autonomous individual.
• Verbal attack with the use of rapid-fire projection and reductionism without allowing for complexity, nuance and reasonableness.
• Ridicule of ones person rather than ones argument in order to confound cognition and bring about a sense of hopelessness and futility.
•Attack ones right to an opinion for opinions are only allowed by professionals whom everyone else must monkey by rote.
• In order to speak one needs credentials from institutes run by the power elite that are party to the thought system and practices that are destroying the planet.
• Your point of view is irrelevant unless it corresponds to that of the orthodoxy, authority or credentialed institutions.
• Resistance is futile—for illogic and right by might is the common denominator that binds our humanity.
• Subordinate ones individuality to authority and deny equality, and submit to mediocrity and homogeneity at all costs.
• Do not even hint at a direct link to God or you will be ridiculed, ostracized and called a heretic.
• You will be cut off without livelihood or sustenance if you demand the respect and rights of your sovereignty.
• Your sexuality and personhood belongs to the patriarch, state and the church rather than to your autonomous self.
• Enemies imagined and false threats conjured in order for “him” to step forward and offer protection and “security.”
• The subjected citizens financially support armies that subdue the very people the armies are pretending to protect.

THE NATURE OF THE SELF IN MODERN WESTERN CULTURE?
Human culture is an ongoing experiment in developing “structures” that fit our current Necessity. The modern scientism and capitalism worldview is off-base not because science and economics is intrinsically wrong, but because our intergenerational armoring generates a closure of mind and heart which leads to abusive and codependent relationships in all our human affairs. An armored society raises armored children who grow up to become armored adults, which in turn produce more armored children. Reichian psychiatrist Charles Konia, M.D. argues that an "emotional plague" has infected humanity and that there is a mass "displacement of intra-psychic conflicts of armored people onto the social and political sphere."  Konia believes that our defenses growing out of control because of the dominance of an overly utilitarian-mechanistic view of human life, where individuals are interchangeable and exploited rather than being supported by the structure and standards of decency of society as a whole. Rather than submit to the world as it is, we must learn to cocreate our world as we know it should be.

It is this that creates the artificial, arbitrary, materialistic, hierarchical and confrontational controlling-punitive stance that works against Eros, nature, wisdom and values. Humans’ ambition to transcend the real world has never stopped. It is the ethos of domination and control rooted in the fear and deprivation of the separate-self-sense that underlies the structure of "modern Western society." Within the ocean waters of our self-centered condition it is hard for us to get beyond ourselves to clearly see our current state and predicament. A collective amnesia and tacit denial systematically prohibits us from talking about issues at the level of structural principles and ultimate preconceptions. In order to understand ourselves and gain liberation in our own lifetime, we have to look at how our society has made the individual over the course of millions of years. Without discourse on the archetypal gestalt of our evolving mythopoeic imagination, we cannot become lucid in our collective dream and demystify the all-pervasive influence of culture influence in human experience and gain a new perspective on the significance of cultural values in daily life.

As rational individuals we want the world to make sense and we want it to be fair. Yet the challenge of the "world as it is" often makes us think we belong to a different species, and can leave us feeling isolated and alienated, without a powerful sense of connection. If we feel isolated from our own species, we are not likely to feel very at home on planet earth or even in our own bodies. Alan Arkin’s children's book entitled “The Lemming Condition” (1976) describes the predicament of the gifted asynchronous child whose level of moral development is superior to human culture. Rather than giving up on humanity and life itself, “The Lemming Condition” helps us follow our own, unique vision, that can lead to our spiritual growth and moral evolution for humanity. With a metaview we need not be undone by the culture, but find our highest place within it through transcending the matrix.

In pyramidal structured, non-egalitarian societies, which is pretty much all human societies that we know of to date, the super-ego (prefrontal lobes) develops under original sin, punitive, authoritarian conditions. This means our wiring for the inner-parent or “regulator” is not geared towards sovereignty and autonomy, but is built for varying degrees of dominance or submission. In this way pyramid structured societies are based on a dominant/submission neuropsychology which leads to the compartmentalized ego…the conditioned, schismed self cut off from body, soul and God. This inner dominant/submissive wiring prevents the inner security and self esteem that is the signature of sovereignty or self-possession. The entire fabric of society is thus built on inharmonious relationship arising from the inner violence and the inner divisiveness of the isolated, separate-self-sense. Submission represents a suppression of the inner violence, and dominance is the expression of the inner violence.

These patterns of dominance and submission are contagious and ubiquitous and reflect the lack of whole-brain function and inability to be in touch with or express ones truth. The enlightened, integrated, whole person naturally flows with the Tao, is open to truth and is not engaged in power and force, because they are ultimately empowered from source. Thus we see that the entire structure of pyramid civilizations, and the make up of the individuals within them, are generated by a miscommunication or mismarriage between the poles, hemispheres, charges and sexes. To build whole people and a mystic culture we need get out of the inner sadomasicistic bind of negative self-reflexivity.  Transcending inner violence, and developing inner security builds the brain centers for the Good Parent and Original Blessing…beyond reactivity to good and evil. Through the neurology of the sovereign individual with well developed Good Parent centers in the brain we can build the world anew, in a circle culture model.

The Taoist submits to the way of nature. He is engaged in submitting to the power and force of nature. The ultimate source is what gives submissive people their power to resist if they want to and it is this power that the dominant people are given, usually under threat or via incentives, when the submissives actually submit.

The problem is that people respond to threats and incentives and then enter into dysfunctional submissive modes that are not win-win in all important aspects.

The richness of mirror neurons developed in an infant through close bonding with parents sets up our adult capacity for spiritual consciousness. This basic mirror neuron mapping of important central nervous system structures in formative years leads to our general capacity for empathy—attachment, attunement, language skill, social cognition, morality, empathy, right-brain intelligence and gnosis. Because of the formation of mirror neurons in the brain in response to socialization, our will is largely determined by our initial caregivers such as: paradoxical intent, conflicted will, entitlement, codependency, criminality, submission and aggression.

The multigenerational inheritance of insufficient bonding and consequent deprivation consciousness can lead to compulsiveness and obesity. Insecure Attachment to primary caregivers in childhood sets us up for trying to find love through food and other addictions. This amounts to an unconscious attempt to drown the pain of non-engagement. Infants are helpless from birth, and need consistent, loving responses to their needs for food, sleep and comfort in order to develop a strong bond of trust with the primary caregiver. If a child is not provided this consistent, loving care, insecure attachments form, which has an effect on growth, development, trust and relationships. Insecure attachments reduce the neural richness of the developing brain, which can lead to a variety of lifelong problems with: interactions with others, self-esteem, self-control, addictions, learning, and health. Symptoms of insecure attachment may be similar to common developmental and mental problems including ADHD, spectrum autism, depression, and anxiety disorders.

Trouble is we have to make a living in a dysfunctional society...trying to make dysfunctional relationships functional is the art of sovereignty. Daily we are given plenty of opportunity for growth in this area...ya can't moan about it either, because that is a victim stance. With sovereignty intact the individual doesn't need to engage in dominant or submissive behavior, including the destruction of self or others. Power over others or disempowerment only occurs when there is a lack of spiritual connection power or unity within. It is never too late to heal attachment difficulties, for with the right tools and environment, and adequate time, patience and love, attachment repair can happen.

Trying to make dysfunctional relationships functional is the art of sovereignty.

Grasp at the functional aspects even in the midst of dysfunction. Dysfunction is a state of mind, not a property of the circumstances. It only arises when we are projecting a narrow perspective onto the situation. Let's put the fun back into dysFUNction, using humor. Life is a comedy of errors, not a tragedy of missed opportunities.

Why is the "who's on first" routine so funny? Because one person is imposing a model that doesn't fit the narrative. Dysfunction arises when our model doesn't fit. We can either change the model or change the circumstances. The question arises: what model are we clinging to and why? Let it go and laugh. Now that's art!

Lack of sovereignty and addictive personality is the causal agent generating spiritual dependency on gurus, teachers and religious fanaticism. To overcome both spiritual materialism and materialism we need to fill the inner void that is unavoidably created within pyramid cultures. Outer focused solutions and salvations will not significantly shift humanity out of its egoic struggle with separation, isolation, deprivation and attachment disorders. Dysfunction arises in the compartmentalized self, when our lack of integration means we are projecting a narrow perspective onto the situation. We have a dysfunctional relationship with reality when it doesn’t meet our expectations. So we can either change our model (content), our perspective (angle, angel) or change the circumstances (context) to become more functional.
