"Human decency or “liberation” is the resonance or anticipation of a perfected future. We transform by attempting to live as far into the perfected future as possible…a visionary flight of the Heart."

What happens when you 'see' too far ahead? Embarrassed

I feel like Creb in the clan of the cave bear who although incredibly evolved by his cro-mag standards, was the end of the line evolutionarily for his kind—whereupon a new emergent form, Ayla & her people, would continue the expansion and progression into a future completely unknown and incomprehensible to him. This knowledge of his evolutionary stagnancy was the turning point towards his downfall and despair. He couldn't cope with the knowledge that his kind was not the at the forefront of the All Great creative intent.

I too, am still coming to terms with this—the translation is impossible, or maybe it's simple and overlooked.

Interesting...what are you basing your assumptions on...the stress of adaptation?
The stress of adaptation or anticipation of necessary change, and the tension of stage differential can be approached in a more conscious fashion through integral practice, counseling, peer to peer coaching, the balanced increase in skill set and the expressive arts.
Sure our technology is racing ahead which makes us feel like a caveman in Tiffany's, and yet on many fronts our collective morality, communication level and social behavior is still very primitive...and there is societal breakdown because of it. The economic bottomline undoes the highest values in most of our human endeavors and areas, and this undermines the quality of our creative expression and the stability of our structures. We feel like disposable units in a disposable culture, and this makes us feel like everything is falling part, that existence if futile and that nothing is sustainable. Saving, planning, contemplation and cosmic immersion seem like a thing of the past as we busy and distract ourselves to try and keep up momentum in what seems like a hopeless exercise. We have forgotten how to be human even as we exercise more personal will and freedom than ever before. If we could pull back and establish some distance from our circumstances, we could gain a perspective on our lives within the human continuum and reset our assumptions about who we are and where we are going. The quality and depth, the profundity and the mystery of our soul is the ultimate prize, and so towards this end we could be conducting our lives...thereby contributing to human sustainability, meaning and purpose. It is a moment by moment choice of whether we choose to abandon ourSelf or not. Do we throw ourselves unthinking into the torrents of history, or do we navigate towards that which our heart's hold most dear. We can learn to become masters of our fate no matter what tides surround us.

Sure. Stress of adaptation... which is not necessarily a bad thing... and I agree about the more conscious approach and finding those proper support systems.

I had to chuckle when McKenna said we are caterpillars contemplating pupation and that life must be a preparation into another dimension. Although it seems a bit funny to me that liberation would be the anticipation of a perfected future, which is quite contrary to what I have come to understand as liberation. Isn't that what everybody is doing right now anyways and creating so much turmoil?

"Although it seems a bit funny to me that liberation would be the anticipation of a perfected future, which is quite contrary to what I have come to understand as liberation."

SYNCOPATION—Apathy is living in the world and not caring about it, while boredom is not being interested in it. Disposable consumerism is driven by apathy and boredom in populations so off balanced that they seek immediate gratification to reestablish a sense of self worth. The wall we have reached in our current cultural trajectory is created from the myriad of symptoms of atrophied prefrontal lobe development. At a time in which we need our executive (simplexity) functions more and more, we find ourselves with less and less access to our higher humanity. When our prefrontal lobes are not ignited, our hemispheres not balanced and our heart closed down we fail to incorporate the psychic and visionary levels in our daily life...thus we drive in the dark with no headlights. As such we collapse our drives down to comfort and security and can merely react to the onslaught of happenstance as it immediately presents itself...instead of entering the NOW fully through being equally centered in Timelessness or Infinity. But this doesn’t need to happen if whenever possible, we can extract ourselves from the clutches of the New World Order’s agenda and save ourselves from being coralled, dumbed down and irretrievably stunted. To a large extend this cretinism has occurred through the use of fluoride, chlorine and aluminum in the drinking water...(and now barium in the climate modification spraying.) Once the pineal gland becomes hardened and laden with the halogens we lose our cosmic clock and the our hormones, thoughts, responses and timing fail to co-respond, such that the phase lock between the conscious and subconscious is broken. Synchronization is timekeeping or co-incidence which requires the coordination of events to operate a system in unison. Out of sync with the Universe, we cannot know our Self or God. Our headlights must be switched on with their beams firmly pointing to our desired future in order to recognize the signs along the way that build momentum to keep the creative thread alive. Break the stream and the circadian, circulation patterns collapse and so we fail to cocreate in an effortless dance with the world, but condemned like Sisyphus to ceaselessly roll a rock to the top of a mountain, only to have the stone fall back from its own weight.

The King's Speech—Awesome subtle psychological study...effects of class, birth order, duty, character depth, love, strength, historical tides, national fortitude, maverick methods. Phenomenal casting and acting. Very healing for finding your own voice. Fuck it!

Micmacs (Micmacs à tire-larigot) definitely worth a watch.  Same director as in City of Lost Children, Amelie and Delicatessen, all of which are worth looking at.  French imagination at its best.

Saw Wit last night.  Highly recommended also.

Both of these have that certain flavor...

'Gerry'.. Matt Damon & Casey Affleck, both name Gerry, get lost in the desert. There is probably two pages of script, it's mostly just stunning cinematography that progressively presents a bleak outlook. The movie sort of nags at you. Actually it bugged me in all the right ways. If you can handle single shots some lasting about 5 minutes of walking in silence then have a look. Roger Ebert wrote: "The longer the movie ran, the less I liked it and the more I admired it."

'The new world'.. directed by Terrence Malick. Thin Red Line is one of my faves, also directed by Malick.. so not sure why it took so long to watch this. I thought it was awesome. Like Avatar, I was able to get passed the heaviness usually associated with 'white man invades naturals theme' and not be so hardcore in taking sides. Unlike Avatar, found it rather easy to remain centered to the essence the film delicately drifts upon. Malick is indeed a Maestro. I liked what one reviewer said: "People will either respond to the beautiful cinematography or feel bored by it. People will find themselves caring about the story while others will be looking for it."

Try http://www.hulu.com/flash-forward

The movie Limitless is a real dopamine fix...it is fantastic...great cinematography...interesting play of light and dark, exploration of
soul and quality at the extremes of human performance. Addiction to being an amplified self, with full faculties...fulfilling God fantasies,
omnipotence & integrity vs. amplified evil. Impeccable and delicious movie.
