Happy new year, and onward into other new years, and the cessation/transformation of all that we know, including this highly civilized, in a good way, forum.

Michael, I'm glad you've re-formed this site, and to borrow a theme from Steven's life, I'm glad you've taken hammer and tongs and are experimenting with civility and other human attributes with sensitivity and art. Of course this is a collaborative forge and we don't know how the piece will turn out, and we hope and intend, I think, that noone gets burned too badly, or for too long.

I think the theme of disclosure is a very big one - pointing to different areas and aspects of disclosure - and maybe sometime someone may open a thread specifically for that. I suppose that as with most important issues, it's got a mutiplexity that can be opened up.

Jane, I was able to follow much of what you were saying. Happy New Year to you and yours and us all, eh.

Yes, the issue of whether we can neatly, efficiently, and aesthetically organize and maybe compartmentalize our conversations seems to be another ongoing dialectic. Maybe there will be no perfect balance for each person, but working towards intelligibility and simultaneous good feelings of flow seems like a sensible exploration to me. Good that the subject is raised, again.

Speaking of disclosure and maybe TMI and not staying on thread - when my daughters visited me for Xmas, I had my first enteric flu experience in many years - in fact I can't remember one. I never quite got what people where talking about. It's been I don't remember how many years - oh yes, I am remembering, in India for each visit from food poisoning and from micro critters - since both North and South poles were expressing themselves simultaneously with biological enthusiasm. If you get my drift - better if you don't. Well - too much info.

At roughly the 60 % mark of feeling the possibility of recognizable life again in these anarchic tissues, I'm wishing myself wellness, wisdom, more peace, and vital sensing of the world around me for the hours, days, and years before me. Hey. I'm wishing you all the same. Ta ta.

Scary indeed, henry, but it is the only one I could find made of Kevlar so nothing I cooked could eat through it.

Liz,
Like all pledges this one is voluntary; no one expects everyone to sign it, no one expects those who sign it to keep it.
Such is the nature of a pledge--the most feeble form of a post hypnotic suggestion. It has no hands, no brains, no intentions and thus has no power to strap anyone anywhere. So who dunnit?

'Jane,  please keep in mind that this forum is made of words on a screen.  You?re a great storyteller, a fascinating person, and obviously goodhearted.  And stories are your forte, and stories is what we make out of words on a screen.  I strongly recommend to you; placing greater value on physical interactions, than on cyber-interactions.  There?s enough trouble with in-person group physical interactive communication, when it comes to blind spot exposure, but taking it online - another step removed from pysical interaction via words on a screen is simply doomed.  I certainly learned this over and over and over again in my time on the IN forums, and I just wish I could somehow pass that learning on to you.  But maybe you have to find out for yourself?'

Thank you Michael, for your considered response, though I don't really understand it entirely.  I agree though  that face-to-face, physical presence is often necessary for working through blind spots in interpersonal relationships.....  That and skill means, and integrity and trust, and the intention of seeking greater clarity rather than protecting one's egoic stance....True too, Writing is my forte, well, one of them anyway.....and certainly talking to faceless disembodied souls has limitations....well, actually, it is a pretty big blind spot right in the middle of the visual field......I think I will take your advice seriously....
Best in the New Year.
