 Shocked Cry

Over reaction of the immune system...that would amount to a septic shock situation. You just need heaps of antioxidants, broth/juice/greens diet, lots of soaking in the bath (mineral pool) to wash toxins, yoga stretching, sunlight, hot Indian and Thai spiced dishes.

The septic shock is similar to various stages of the self-canabalism of metamorphosis when the immune cells are spewing heaps of free radicals into the body in the process of killing off inferior cells in order to recycle and rebuild the body. Pathogens produce collagen dissolving enzymes which increase the permeability of blood and lymph vessels. Thus my guess would be to build up the antioxidants (most powerful one is Potassium ascorbate 1 tsp/day) and the collagen with silicon, Omega 3, Vitamin C, Lysine and Proline, copper, manganese, magnesium and zinc to help restore elasticity and strength to connective tissue. Shiitake mushrooms for beta glucans.

I doubt it will be a problem here in the states unless it mutates into something more deadly. I never get flu bugs, so I doubt I have to worry. Keep hands away from mouth and eyes might be called for at this point...and doing clay.
• PM CLEANSER
2 parts Psyllium powder, 2 parts Bentonite Clay, 1 part Yucca root powder, 1 part Magnesium citrate powder. Mix this together and put in a jar. Take one teaspoon in a glass of water prior to bed each evening. Ingredients can be bought by the pound at herbalcom.com

QUINOA KEFIR ~ Produces an exceptional calming, soothing smoothness to the digestive system with no bloating or gas.
Soak 1.5 cups of quinoa in water for two hours to remove the saponins, then change the water and resoaking for two more hours. Then grow the quinoa sprouts for about 2 days till the root is just over 1⁄4”, and then “rinse well several times.” Grind them up in a blender with 3 cups of quality water for 5 minutes. Then put a large piece of silk or cheesecloth over a colander and squeeze out all the liquid from the solids.
Put the quinoa milk in a glass jar and add 1⁄2 sachet of Kefir starter grains. Cover the jar with a cloth and left on the countertop for 24 hours (12 hrs in summer perhaps). It separates out to clear liquid on top, with thick creamy liquid down the bottom. So if you wanted a richer mix you could siphon off the top liquid and use it for juices, smoothies, facial-beauty preparations or on the garden. You can also add ground chia seeds to the mix if you want a thicker consistency. You can use this Quinoa Kefir as a dairy replacement (or in addition to yogurt) as a rich source of probiotics. It would be great in raw deserts, salads, with raw-sprouted cereals, superfood smoothies, pilaf and in salad dressings, raw sauces and soups etc...Clay powder/quinoa juice facepack makes your face red, but the redness goes away in 1/2 an hour.  Clay/quinoa juice is also good for washing your teeth with as it preserves mouth ecology, whereas salt and baking soda formulas irritate the mucus membranes.

L-Lysine and L-Proline amino acids are the precursors of hydroxylysine and hydroxyproline, two constituents of collagen. Research found that if lysine was present very few cancer cells could migrate through collagen. It was the lysine that kept cancer cells in place and prevented their spreading...hence the preventative cancer-inhibitory effects of Ascorbic Acid, Proline, and Lysine supplementation.

According to MSN health & Fitness, the virus can be effectively treated with Tamiflu and Relenza antiviral drugs.

I swear by some paracetamol and a hot toddy (whisky, hot water and honey). Repeat 4 hourly. I guarantee if you get the proportions right, within 12 hours you will feel much better..........

Jana, I fully support alternative medicine and your de-tox suggestion sounds very good. A word of caution however. If you have any doubts that you, a loved one or anyone you may know might have sepsis don't play around. Septic shock is death treatening. I have seen people in intentsive care on multiple vasoactive drips and on a ventilator unconscious in septic shock. There is a high mortatlity rate. Lots of antibiotics too.

Remember this 20 year old model who went septic? All limbs amputated, kidneys removed and other organs as well . On a ventilator...and she still didn't want to give up...still wanted to live

http://drs1958.gaia.com/blog/2009/1/courage_defined

Just a note of caution. Know what you are dealing with regarding your health.

Dan

Remember, Tamiflu only treats symptoms...there is no vaccine for this yet. I personally think its overblown and the CDC and WHO are being prudently cautious. Before freaking out over the death count know that there are deaths every year from the common flu. The numbers coming out of Mexico are different than the U.S. statistics. Of course its relative to the total number of cases . We do not gather data the way they do. They are reporting though that some of the deaths are from young adults which is unusual. Its normally very young children or old people who die from influenza because of compromised immune systems secondary to either immaturity or just plain old age.

Thanks Dan,
Getting flu and dying would be a positive outcome to my life the way it is going.
I never get colds/flus anyway...other people go down for a week, and I just give a couple of sneezes. The benefits of being bought up in rural NZ. Lips Sealed

I have some MMS on hand, and 3 bottles of Clarkia clove/wormwood/blackwalnut that I made, and I have a Hilda Clarke type zapper...I often use the zapper like Egyptian rods for meditating with.

It important to start sunbathing to build up the immune system.

Jana,
If you put a little lemon juice in the toddy things will work out better, faster. Crawl deep under the blankets and sweat...a virus cannot exist except in a very small temperature range. (Why do you think evolution invented fevers?)
Do what people do with the flu: get sick, get well, move on.

Hey Jana..good to see you are still here:-)

I blame Sept 11th. The world has never been quite the same since. I suspect there is huge sensitivity about information that was known and the failure to raise the alert level at the time.

Now it's become like a collective adrenalin response.....the dysfunctional one that goes straight to red alert at every single threat. No ability to assess or discriminate. If the analogy is right, the predictable response would be panic attacks........

i'd have to agree with you Liz..  since 9-11 the powers-that -try-to- be have been using the fear factor to control the mood of the culture.  but even the most conditioned people eventually tire  and the "boy who cried wolf" effect comes into play.  not to say they'll try to find some new buttons to push.....

I think that the concern is quite valid. They don't want to "cry wolf" but they are scared stiff about our chances for seeing another pandemic. Don’t forget, 780,000 people have been killed in the US by pandemics in the last 100 years. Globalization makes the threat even more daunting. The stakes are high, if history is any guide:

Quote
The "Spanish flu", 1918–1919. First identified early in March 1918 in US troops training at Camp Funston, Kansas. By October 1918, it had spread to become a world-wide pandemic on all continents, and eventually infected an estimated one third of the world's population (or ≈500 million persons).[38] Unusually deadly and virulent, it ended nearly as quickly as it began, vanishing completely within 18 months. In six months, some 50 million were dead;[38] some estimates put the total of those killed worldwide at over twice that number.[39] An estimated 17 million died in India, 675,000 in the United States[40] and 200,000 in the UK. The virus was recently reconstructed by scientists at the CDC studying remains preserved by the Alaskan permafrost. They identified it as a type of H1N1 virus.[citation needed]

The "Asian Flu", 1957–58. An H2N2 virus caused about 70,000 deaths in the United States. First identified in China in late February 1957, the Asian flu spread to the United States by June 1957. It caused about 2 million deaths globally.[41]

The "Hong Kong Flu", 1968–69. An H3N2 caused about 34,000 deaths in the United States. This virus was first detected in Hong Kong in early 1968, and spread to the United States later that year. This pandemic of 1968 and 1969 killed an estimated one million people worldwide.[42] Influenza A (H3N2) viruses still circulate today.

Yea, but why arn't people freaking out about dorretos, hamburgers, dove bars etc...these kill more people per year than any nasty bug. Lets get our priorities right. Since the obese are costing the most to the healthcare system Monsanto should tailor a bug to get these guys more effectively rather than the slow death by GM foods. Evil

i'm more concerned about the possible manipulation of an event like this rather than the virus itself.  i havn't had a cold or flu in over 6+ years and i'm exposed to everyone's germs every day.  to me the question is why is the media/gvmnt hyping it so much?  Beats me

Reminds me of something I was reading yesterday here

Quote
Systemic Flaws In the Reported World View

Paradoxically, one of the biggest reasons for being optimistic is that there are systemic flaws in the reported world view. Certain types of news — for example dramatic disasters and terrorist actions — are massively over-reported, others — such as scientific progress and meaningful statistical surveys of the state of the world — massively under-reported.

Although this leads to major problems such as distortion of rational public policy and a perpetual gnawing fear of apocalypse, it is also reason to be optimistic. Once you realize you're being inadvertently brainwashed to believe things are worse than they are, you can... with a little courage... step out into the sunshine.

How does the deception take place?

The problem starts with a deep human psychological response. We're wired to react more strongly to dramatic stories than to abstract facts. There are obvious historical and Darwinian reasons why this should be so. The news that an invader has just set fire to a hut in your village demands immediate response. The genes for equanimity in such circumstances got burned up long ago.

Although our village is now global, we still instinctively react the same way. Spectacle, death and gore. We lap it up. Layer on top of that a media economy that's driven by competition for attention and the problem is magnified. Over the years media owners have proven to their complete satisfaction that the stories that attract large audiences are the simple human dramas. Rottweiler Savages Baby is a bigger story than Poverty Percentage Falls even though the latter is a story about better lives for millions.

Today our media can source news from 190 countries and 6 billion people. Therefore you can be certain that every single day there will be word of spectacularly horrifying things happening somewhere. And should you get bored of reading about bombs, fires and wars, why not see them breaking live on cable 24/7 with ever more intimate pictures and emotional responses.

Meta-level reporting doesn't get much of a look-in.

So for example, the publication last year of a carefully researched Human Security Report received little attention. Despite the fact that it had concluded that the numbers of armed conflicts in the world had fallen 40% in little over a decade. And that the number of fatalities per conflict had also fallen. Think about that. The entire news agenda for a decade, received as endless tales of wars, massacres and bombings, actually missed the key point. Things are getting better. If you believe Robert Wright and his NonZero hypothesis, this is part of a very long-term and admittedly volatile trend in which cooperation eventually trumps conflict. Percentage of males estimated to have died in violence in hunter gatherer societies? Approximately 30%. Percentage of males who died in violence in the 20th century complete with two world wars and a couple of nukes? Approximately 1%. Trends for violent deaths so far in the 21st century? Falling. Sharply.

In fact, most meta-level reporting of trends show a world that is getting better. We live longer, in cleaner environments, are healthier, and have access to goods and experiences that kings of old could never have dreamed of. If that doesn't make us happier, we really have no one to blame except ourselves. Oh, and the media lackeys who continue to feed us the litany of woes that we subconsciously crave.

Another thing that's been occurring to me, is the internet-based geeky fascination with new toys, such as the pervasive googlemapping and realtime tracking of this virus.  Which looks to me like the geeks really wish there was more there to be tracking...because the toys are SOOO COOL.  Seems like they are just itching for a REAL disaster to track in REALtime...  BananaDance

It might be some political move with Mexico.
Since the thing looks like it was genetically engineered in the US and sent down to Mexico for distribution, they might working some trade angle or some political extortion. Or they could be setting the stage for a major lethal outbreak distribution in Fall.
If Horowitz is right and companies make the virus and the vaccine ahead of time in order to generate billions from pandemic fear...then we have a really majorly difficult problem to solve.
