Hey Bogo has John Lash done an historical analysis of reincarnation doctrine? He would be the perfect person to write a book on this...he being into astrology, myth, history, politicialization of religion and use of myth in social control etc... I have written a little on this which he might like as seed material for a new work...I think this issue is radically important to propel us out of narcissistic uroborus and new age infantalism.

This IS the very sense of the deep Self…the transtemporal nature of the deep Self is such that it feels it has lived since the beingings of the universe, because it HAS. It is transpersonal…and yet it personifies and embodies the deepest and highest subjectivity and individuality. The deep “eye” is our Genius, our Muse, the template of gnosis through which our arch-etype expresses itself. This store of consciousness is the fabric of the universe itself…our matter is a condensation of the energy of the Field temporarily held in a slow changing holding pattern for the extent of our lives. After we die, our particular perturbation (coherency organizing) in the Field that had formed from 3.5 billion years of life on earth, and infinite billions of years of Universe creation is no more...(I don’t go for the silly big bang model).. The deep Self is not the least concerned about our particular arch-form we presently embody…because it is sourced from the place that is prior to form…and which in-forms form. Pure consciousness doesn’t concern itself with death, for it just is. I am that I am.

There is the niggling problem in me, which I have had for about 40 years I suppose, that if I am alive now once, then chances are in an infinite universe that this “eye” of subjectivity should be able to be alive again. This is some incorrect form of egoic logic which I cannot put to rest once and for all…I would like someone to iron that one out form me.

As the “eye” transcends form and lives more transtemporaly in multiple dimensions (brain frequency attunement) we loose identification with the accoutrements of the ego, which we accumulated to camouflage our lack of core-self in a culture that finds soul embodiment illegal and disturbing. Few people are tapped into the deep Self and so they make up fairytales about angels, UFOs, ghosts, and other kinds of mythic folk which are personifications of mystical attributes of our consciousness capabilities.

We all have spiritual affinities which may not be the same as our cultural affinities. Our spiritual affinities are connected deeply to the “art” the consciousness conveyed through the artifacts of a particular culture. That spiritual resonance conveyed through that art speaks to our soul’s growth with the deepest purpose, meaning and love. There is enormous passion in connecting to the consciousness of prior peoples and cultures in this way, whether they be groups, countries or individuals. We are enriched to the depths of our being by those who have gone before us…partly because this modern culture is so fragmented, ensconced in the trappings of ego and bereft of true meaning beyond the dollar. We have a hunger for “genuine” humanity that exceeds even our hunger for a saccharine oblivion. We are alive and so we seek to be MORE alive within a death culture.

That we “resonate” with Cleopatra…doesn’t mean that we “were” Cleopatra. We resonant deeply with the Celts, the Vikings, the Scythians, the Egyptians, etc…because this post ice age period of vitality comes through to us in the vibrancy of their artifacts…at the dawn of the current age. Where the Rome of civilization has been burning quite nicely now for at least 2000 years…we can tap into our deep humanity through spiritual affinity…passionate recognition of the true “genius” of past cultures. The really interesting thing…and something that requires vast inspection is that these cultures that we find resonance are those that are prior to the fuller development of the “Individual” that we see here in the modern world. We are observing a collective geni distilled from thousands of years of cultural development…through the “eye” of the modern individualist. And so an entire culture is compressed in the psyche to one uba-mega genius artist with massive personal flare.

I am reaching here on the boarder of falling into the reincarnation quicksand, because the language needed to express this unknown idea still emerging is insufficient. As it stands my non-reincarnation theory is sounding just like reincarnation. I need help to continue to play  at the edge and bring this thing forth.

The reincarnation doctrine started being formulated around 3000 just when the push for individualism started to emerge. One of the first signs of the emerging “individual” that has come down to us is Akhenaten, whom is believed to have been born between 1362 BC and 1379 BC. I resonate deeply and passionately with Akhenaten not because I WAS him or his wife, but because I sense the profound spiritual development in him that enabled him to rise so high above the thousands of years of cultural habit. Though he may not have experienced himself as brave, I consider him to be one of the most bravest individuals the earth has ever known. To defy the socalled sanctity of tradition to discover a "greater" and contemporary truth. He could have lived to a ripe old age, had he simply followed what had gone before and done what the priests and military had asked of him.

Stabilization of the individuation process may have required the safety net of reincarnation or eternal life doctrine, for with our weapons of war, we were becoming too dangerous for our own good. Now however that we are too awake to be used as cannon fodder for the elite under the promise of a life with dozens of virgins in the here after…we have to ask whether it still serves us or whether we should peer more deeply into the nature of the transpersonal Self and find our refuge not in multiple lives, but in the mystery and miracle of the Universe itself, in all its depth. If we do this, we would not care the slightest about living again, because we would be truly living this one life that we are right now. Seeking out and resonating with all our special affinities until the light goes out in this “eye.”

    Hello dear ol' acquaintances. Being a proponent of omnijectivity and enormous egos, I've just got to add my two scents even though ya might think it stinks....
     I think that the old model of ego destruction is only one side of the coin, or one facet in the jewel. The opposite or the inverse is probably equally true. Just because atoms and molecules have been transcended doesn't mean they get excluded in this here creation. Egos are just another thing to transcend and include. Enlightenment may appear to be an absence of ego and expressed as utter selflessness, but looked at from the other side, it may be that the ego is all inclusive, Kosmic ego = Kosmic consciousness = Kosmic conscience. The sum of all egos, all perspectives, omnijectivity.
    Yeah, we as little individuals may be too small to include it all, but we are evolving, like the hardware we create, those little computer chips that keep getting smaller and smaller, but hold more and more data.

Yes, I like that.
I think that what we are calling ego these days is the defensive personality developed within the trauma and neglect/deprivation of the top-down power system. That is the conditioning developed around a pathological social environment. Even or especially our modern spirituality (by $, vogue and cool) represents an elaborate exercise in trying to overcome the pain of this social armoring...all the while generating the same status poisoning and exclusion that one is trying to overcome. Thus even the spiritual circus perpetuates our suffering and dehumanization...until that is we develop the ultra-philosophy and technology in order to get out of the uroborus of patriarchal brain damage...and soul damage.

A healthy ego is that which can find its way out of the labyrinth of cultural conditioning to communion with our aboriginal, pristine nature.

It is madness to run around after one spiritual teacher, venue, event and sound bite after another, while rarely if ever coming up with an idea of our own. This seeking of spiritual spam is addictive, narcissistic and pointless and a total distraction from the work that needs to be done... which is water, soil remineralization and recarboning (soil organic matter), high conscious food, permaculture education and visionary self-gnosis teaching of the kids. Imagine you back up all your computer files onto cds. Then you burn your computer and bury the ashes. Then you build a new computer and copy all the old programs on it. This is a metaphor for reincarnation.

The astral light is with regard to the material realms of the solar system the copy or reflection of what the akasa is in the spiritual realms. The astral light is the mother of the physical, just as the spirit is the mother of the akasa or, inversely, the physical is merely the concretion of the astral, just as the akasa is the veil or concretion of the highest spiritual.

Personalities are stored in the astral light. They can be downloaded into a new person and they frequently are. It's like being a permanent channel.

Where are these cosmic CDs...and if thoughts are things, where are these things stored while the brain is turning to dirt?

 The universe is infinite, creativity is unlimited...so why would it need to rehash the same souls. Each individual has an individual soul related to its lineage of DNA and specific spacetime and noospheric environment. However there are recognizable archetypes in any human population related to the panoply of the Gods, or the spectrum of personality required in a tribe. The more defined the individual becomes through the exercise of sovereignty, the more "there" or incarnated...the more polished, precise and actualized is that archetype. The archetypes are expressed through the vocational talents and genius of each which is needed to make up a spiritual ( that is not a commercial or degenerate) community. Thus in our very being and our genetics we readily see the makings of a mystic civilization...even though as yet it is still very discordinant and ill defined.

The "Force" of a new human is often felt prior to conception due to part of us being able to sense forward in time. This drives couples together to procreate in association with the erotic pull of the sun and moon at a certain time. This is why angels (cherubs with arrows) are associated with Eros for...these arrows are spacetime coordinates or navigational-vectors. There is no "invitation" from the universe for our existence, considering the zillions of humans that were never even conceived. But it is the transtemporal FORCE of a child being born of certain desirous genes that maneuvers events toward its procreation. It is this transrational and subrational force of Eros that so bewilders males and females in their mating games.

The Void stores the information of Matter creation…the Vacuum being the ultimate force of depersonalization does not concern itself with the storage of “Human” information…that is the storage of ideas or emotion. Nature makes “brains” to store information in this way. Thus the idea of a collective consciousness or Akashic Field…a hall of records for the psyche, is I think incorrect. So where do we get this information which is beyond our conditioned personalities…psi information from across globe or from the future? If we let go of the known to clear our “receivers” and allow a coherent resonance with “what is,” we expand in conscious and it is this expansiveness of our hardware that allows more advanced and subtle levels of consciousness to arise. We are simply going up the scale of Grokking, that is resonating with the Universe. This is gnosis and the university IS the Universe itself…the ultimate teacher.

While this doesn’t explain the mechanisms of psi, precognition, revelation, bio-navigation…it is the closest I can come to an empirical cosmology prior to the development of more advanced understanding in quantum consciousness and the interaction of time-matter-energy and consciousness. The dreaming mind, being more open, loose and liberated, is the principle probe in understand these things. Certainly our waking mind tries to use solid-state metaphors in describing the furtherest reaches of our consciousness’s ability to divine the mystery. This is an infinite journey of understanding into inner and outer space…and so the best we can do is to constantly lick our “imagination” around the edges of the horizon of the known…and to be more than ready always to give up our prior versions of understanding as we forever expand into the Void. The language needed to express the emergent unknown is always insufficient.

With the advent of quantum physics and the concepts comprising quantum mechanics physicists are now speculating that the most fundamental building block of the perceivable universe is in fact information.

an examination of the quantum model of the mind-brain, as presented by H. P. Stapp in 1993 (from Explaining Consciousness, the Hard Problem by J. Schear). Stapp outlines 13 principles pertaining to his model:

1. Facilitation. The pattern of neurological activity associated with any occurring conscious thought is facilitated in the sense that the activation of this pattern considers certain physical changes in the brain structure, and these changes facilitate subsequent activations of this pattern.

2. Associative Recall. The excitation of a part of a facilitated pattern has a tendency to excite the whole.

3. Body – World Schema. The physical body of the person in its environment is represented within the brain by certain patterns of neural and other brain activity.

4. Executive Level Template for Action. A main task of the alert brain at each moment is to construct a template for the impending action of the organism. The representation is imprinted in the brain by means of an automatic causal spreading of the neural excitations of the executive level to the rear of the nervous system.

5. Beliefs and Other Generalizations. Beliefs can be added to the landscape of the simple body-world schema.

6. Quantum Theories. The classically describable aspects of nature …. that we seem to experience, arise in a rational way from the quantum underpinning.

7. Superposition of Templates. Without quantum collapses the body/brain would evolve into a superposition of macroscopically distinguishable possibilities, as a measuring devise normally does.

8. The Reduction Postulate. The Quantum collapse of the brain state occurs at the high level of the template for action. The (Heisenberg-picture) state (of the universe) undergoes the collapse:

where Pi is a projection of the operator or that acts on appropriate macroscopic variables associated with the brain. It picks out and saves, or ‘actualizes’ one of the alternative possible templates for action, and eradicates all others.

9. The Psycho-Physical Postulate physical postulate. The collapse of the wave function to the branch that specifies one particular template for action is the brain correlate of a corresponding psychological or experiential event.

10. Efficacy of Consciousness. Pieces associated with conscious events are dynamically efficacious. Each such event effects a decision between different templates for action, and these different templates for action lead on to different distinguishable responses of the organism.

11. Consciousness and Survival. Consciousness emerges because it aids survival. For this to be so, consciousness must be efficacious.

12. Conscious Events and Unconscious Processing. The general temporal development of the brain profits by periods of unconscious processing punctuated by conscious events. Conscious events actualize a template for action that, by automatic spreading of the top-level neural activity to the rest of the nervous system, controls: a) motor action, b) the collection of information, c) the formation of the next template for action.

13. Overall Picture. Graphically only a single "next template" would be formed. This could be achieved either by the formation of a resonant state that sucks energy from competing possibilities, or by inhibitory signals, or by dropping into the well of an attractor. Each of the distinct events chooses from among the alternative possible allowed templates for action of the local deterministic loss of quantum mechanics, and hence between the different associated macroscopic responses from the organism.

Here we have the clash of the metaphysics in trying to establish a science of spirit.
The old terms such as Astral Light and even Implicate Order don't cut it when trying to understand the occult nature of the universe for these terms are occult. Soon tho, with people like Marko Rodin, Nassim, Matti Pitkanen—Topological Geometrodynamics & Quantum Biology, Stuart Hameroff—Photons through microtubules...we will come up with a modern spiritual science that is One thing...

Occult just means 'hidden' or 'obscure'. These words are no more occult than are terms like "black hole", "geometrodynamics" & "microtubules" All jargon has an occult feel to the 'uninitiated' (non-specialists) with respect to the specialized field of study.

Probably the best example is Hippocrates theory of humours. Humours were thought to be occult substances. Now they are known by endocrinologists as hormones. No longer occult? Seems like an arbitrary distinction to me.

Jargon is terminology which is especially defined in relationship to a specific activity, profession, or group. In other words, the term covers the language used by people who work in a particular area or who have a common interest. Much like slang, it develops as a kind of short-hand, to express ideas that are frequently discussed between members of a group. A standard term may be given a more precise or unique usage among practitioners of a field. In many cases this causes a barrier to communication with those not familiar with the language of the field

Meaning of the Term "Astral Light"
This term, though perhaps not the best that could be chosen, has come down to us from certain medieval mystics and passed into current use. Astral means "starry," and was used both by ancient and medieval philosophers to designate spheres above the terrestrial or earthy. In the same way, such spheres were often spoken of as spheres of light or fire or aether. As to the word "light," we might substitute the word "matter" and speak of astral matter instead of astral light. But in this case it would be a kind of matter that was self-luminous. We might also speak of the astral plane; and this may help us to realize that we need to feel more certain as to just what such words as light, matter, and plane, really mean. How does science regard light? If it is a vibration, then we must suppose some vibrating medium, and this medium must be of a material nature. And if light is not a vibration, then we must suppose that it is itself a form of matter.
Theosophy recognizes several different planes of nature. The plane familiar to us is called the physical plane; it is related to our physical senses. These senses are limited in their scope; they give us a partial view of nature. While they are commonly regarded as our means of communication with nature, it is also possible to regard them as windows which only allow us to see a small part of nature and shut us out from the rest. From the reports received from these senses we have constructed an imaginary picture of the universe: put in technical language, we have a set of concepts derived from our percepts. If we have other senses, more subtle ones, and these should come into play while our former senses became inactive, we should get quite another picture of the universe. Things which we have taken for granted because we are so familiar with them, and which we have assumed to be universal and invariable, would be seen to be peculiar to the physical plane, to our physical consciousness, and not necessarily appropriate to other planes. Notions of space and time, magnitude and position, and density and force might be entirely different. We should have left the physical plane; we should be on the astral plane, in the astral light.
It is often convenient to consider the universe under threefold aspects, just as we may consider man as spirit-soul-body. In this view the astral light would be the intermediate sphere between the spiritual and the physical, and thus it would be the soul of the world -- as indeed it has often been called. Thus the astral light, in this view, would form a connecting link between the higher and lower worlds; it would stand to the higher world in the relation of a body, and to the lower world in the relation of a spirit. But it must be pointed out that such a threefold division of the universe is not a complete analysis, and is only adopted for the convenience of a concise view; for theosophy divides the universe into many planes. In this latter view the astral light is the plane immediately above the physical plane, and is the lowest of a number of cosmic planes, reaching from the physical plane to the highest spiritual plane, in a gradation of steps of greater and greater refinement. To these other planes various names are given, such as akasa and aether; but it is not necessary at present to go into details as to these distinctions.
Thus the astral light or astral plane is another world, or another story of the world, related to a different set of human senses, and characterized by different relations of space, time, and other qualities. If it be asked whether the astral light is a form of matter or a form of energy, it may be answered that the former distinction made between these two by science is now becoming obliterated, and it is coming to be recognized that there is no essential distinction between matter and energy. Both of them are now regarded as particular and contrasted phases or aspects of some one thing which is more fundamental than either. What to call this one thing, and how to define it, is a question that now engages the attention of physicists. It is a very old idea that there must exist a permanent substratum to nature, a basic substance, a protyle, an "absolute," a prima material of which all the various elements known to science are merely modifications; and not only so, but all the various forms of energy are also modifications. The quest for such a basic substance is one form of the quest for the philosopher's stone, the great magic agent.

Chapter 3
Scientific Views
Physical science has found itself involved in difficulties and contradictions by the attempt to explain all physical phenomena in terms of physics alone; and has presented us with a picture of a universe composed of indestructible units of matter, acted on by forces. But, if these forces are material themselves, we have matter impelling matter; and if they are not material, they must be something else -- say spiritual -- and materialistic science did not recognize any such thing. Further, this scheme does not provide any means of explaining how the immaterial forces can act on the material forces, or (which is the same thing) how energy can act across spaces assumed to be empty. These and similar difficulties disappear at once, as soon as we regard the physical world as merely a manifestation of energies acting behind the scenes, so that we can see the effects but not the causes, the shifting scenes but not the scene-shifters. We may now say, with all the authority of modern science behind us, that the former supposed permanent and indivisible atom of matter has now become resolved into a mere center of vibrations and energies; and this makes it necessary to assume a subtler and ultra-physical form of matter in which these vibrations and energies can inhere. Thus we have full authority for presuming the reality of at least one grade of matter which is not physical matter, and whose properties must therefore be different from those of physical matter. Also we can say that this matter partakes in an equal degree of the qualities usually assigned to energy and force. It becomes desirable therefore to use some such expression as force-substance or energy-matter to designate such an entity which is neither the one nor the other but both.
In view of the above, we can scarcely be accused of fantasy when we speak of the astral light as a world of energy-substance of a subtler order than the physical world, and underlying the latter as its prime mover.
The physical world, as compared with the astral world, is a world of results; while the astral world is to the physical world as a world of causes. The astral world is a world of forms and types, which find their expression in the physical world. This idea is necessary in order to account for many quite familiar happenings, which have no real explanation on orthodox lines of the older physics. Take for example the production of a tree from a seed. It may be granted that the materials for the tree are gathered from the soil and the atmosphere, but that is not enough explanation; we require to know why each seed should produce a tree conformable to its own nature and build these materials into one particular pattern and no other. It is because the entire pattern of the future tree is contained within the seed, and the growth of that seed is simply a process of unfoldment, during which the particles from soil and air are gathered together and built into the required form. And let us bear in mind that no question of size, no question of how such a large pattern can be packed into such a small seed, is relevant; for it has already been shown that our physical notions of space and dimension do not necessarily, or even probably, apply to the astral world. If thought desirable, we might here invoke that old friend the "fourth dimension" as a possible means of escape from the difficulty.
We can easily extend our illustration of the seed and tree to other familiar cases. For instance, what explanation can physics give for the way in which the human body preserves its integrity of shape, although its physical particles are continually changing, some being cast off, others taken on? Why does a mole persist in the same place throughout life? If we try to evade the point by saying that the new particles take the same place as the old particles, then it is legitimate to inquire, What is a place? And it will be a puzzle to define a place apart from any objects which may occupy it. The rational explanation is that there is an astral body within the physical body, and that this inner body remains unchanged throughout all the changes of physical substance.
This is a topic which belongs more particularly to discussions on the human constitution and astral body, to which the reader may be referred; but it is impossible to avoid some overlapping, so intimately are the various theosophical teachings interblended. In the same way we might adduce the phenomena of memory, a faculty which enables us to preserve the images of events, despite the continual changes in the physical substance of the brain. But we must deal specifically with the astral light in nature, rather than as manifested in man particularly.

Chapter 4
A Cosmic Picture Gallery
The astral light has been well called the world's memory and the cosmic picture gallery. It is nature's storehouse of forms. Everything in the physical world preexists in the astral world as an image or type or form. Besides this, it is a great memory, nature's memory; for it retains impressions of objects and events on the physical plane. Thus it is a great record. Human thoughts perish not when the thinker dies; they have passed out into the astral light, where their records remain, and whence they can be recovered by the vision of the trained seer. This suggests that nothing can ever be irrecoverably lost. This carries us beyond the familiar notion of the passage of time, and offers us a picture in which past, present, and future coexist as one whole. The astral light contains the germs of all that is to be on the physical plane, and the records of all that has been.
Here again the recent advances in scientific philosophy will help us to an understanding. In seeking to interpret the more recent findings of experimental research, it has been found no longer sufficient to regard merely the position which objects occupy in space; it becomes necessary to define their position in time. And thus a fourth coordinate is added to the familiar spatial three, and we not only ask where a thing is, but when. And in place of objects we speak of events. With this help it becomes easier to understand how the astral light may be a storehouse of events.
Many familiar phenomena have been pushed aside or declared impossible for no better reason than that they could not be explained by the orthodox science of the time. But when we have a simple explanation ready to hand there is no reason to reject them or to try not to see them. Thought transference is a matter of common occurrence, especially between people closely related or associated with each other. We often fail to remember something and leave off trying; and later on the memory comes back unexpectedly. We fail to solve a problem, and the solution pops into our head suddenly at some later time. We live in an atmosphere of thought, just as we live in an atmosphere of air; and ideas come into the head from we know not where, and pass out again we know not whither. Thoughts are things; they may not come under the definition of physical matter as "that which can be handled and weighed"; but we have seen that there may be other sorts of matter, having altogether different properties.
It is not only thoughts, but also emotions, which are stored up in the astral light and passed from one human being to another; and this explains the unconscious and unseen influence which we exercise upon one another. It is really impossible to sin in secret; an evil thought or feeling will poison the astral light as a dirty body would foul the water in which we bathed, or an unwholesome breath might pollute the atmosphere. On the other side of the picture, our good thoughts and aspirations must have their influence; and this influence is more potent because it rises to a higher plane. The importance of individual responsibility becomes greatly increased in view of this. And this leads us to speak of the connection of the astral light with the law of karma.~ Henry T. Edge

There was that experiment mentioned by Tiller where DNA had altered the Vacuum in a room such that the spectograph of that DNA showed up for months afterwards regardless of air change in the room. Morphogenic Field Theory probably operates in this way...that atomic form is both created by and in turn molds the memory of the Unified Field. And since as Nassim says...all protons in the Universe are connected simultaneously...this might mean that the imprinting of the Field through the learning processes of Life, builds up a data base through which Life slowly learns to excel itself and new adaptation patterns are maintained and improved. This imprinting of the Field is probably one of the main mechanisms involved in the similarity of simultaneous cultures all around the world. Also the fact that different individual geniuses tend to come up with similar ideas at the same time without knowledge of each others work. If the Field can "store" the memory of the structure of matter which is an EMF signature, then it can also store thought and emotion which are energetic EMF vibrational patterns. This explains the hundredth monkey effect and it also explains how noospheric influence is ubiquitous in establishing the zeitgeist of the day or the era. Even so, while swimming in the collective noetic ocean, we can choose to float lazily on the surface enjoying the scenary, rather than be pulled down by vortexes or plowed under by gigantic waves on the beach. Becoming conscious of the anthropological-atmosphere we exist in is probably one of the first aspects of developing our individuality beyond the Matrix and hive or pack mind. Sovereignty demands we be aware of the jello nature of the ocean of consciousness we swim in. Back in the early 1900's the New Thought thinkers like Charles Hannel were forming the mystical language for these types of consciousness imprinting of the Void effects.

I know what you mean some of this stuff is nauseating. But I’ve been warming up to this idea lately. Let’s talk hard-nosed science. Let’s also be wary of scientism. In this sense I mean that scientism takes the form of blind adherence to the authority of established scientists. For example, scientism is when someone claims that, “Einstein said assertion X, therefore assertion X must be true.” Whereas the more scientific approach would be, “Person Y tested assertion X using sound scientific methods and failed to disprove assertion X” This is the difference between what I’m calling sound science and faith-based scientism. What does sound science say about the aether?

Science says that Michelson and Morely  have proven that the aether does not exist. The Michelson-Morley experiment was performed in 1887 by Albert Michelson and Edward Morley at what is now Case Western Reserve University. Unless we are calling the ether...the vacuum fluctuation...then we can simply dispense with the term unless we want to use it in poetry.
