There are a zillion pitfalls to gaining sovereignty...these are just a few...more coming. Huh?

PITFALLS ON THE ROAD TO SOVEREIGNTY
• Self-Hatred—The number one impediment to sovereignty is the self-hatred that gets in the road of the compassion (8Hz) necessary for dissolving the encrustation of inertia and resistance we call the ego. Distorting or rejecting reality with regards to self, or other is always a form of self-hate.

• Stockholm Syndrome—This involves misplaced loyalty to an abusive patriarchal figure (“protector”) due to fear damage to the self-making centers of the brain which otherwise would produce an objective distain or distancing from the abuser. Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in abducted hostages, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker. Entire countries can be spiritually abducted and held hostage in this way through infantile dependency generated by stun damage to the reptilian brain…such is evident in USA after 911.

• Servile Minionhood—Survival stress produces a regression into infantile lust for outer-authority. But evolution requires us to go in the opposite direction toward differentiation, maturity, self-responsibility, sovereignty, self-ignition and passionate self-authorship or self-origination. This manifests as a tendency to regress to “good little boy or girl” behavior in order to garner approval and “security.”

• Impinging Meta-structures—Lack of sovereignty has become a perennial issue due to the theft of “the right to divinity of each individual” within power-over pyramidal societies who are entranced into following traditions and philosophies that were built for the express purpose of enslavement, control and exploitation.

• Depth Incongruency—Humanity is going through a kind of crisis of "shallowness made apparent" by the swelling depths...in that it is more and more apparent that flatland doesn't cut it for a human life, and yet we don't know how to make the connection, community, culture that would truly sustain us as the cosmic-genius that we really are. The good thing is that we are now too awake to abandon ourselves anymore, which is the first step to change.

• Projected Resistance—Sovereignty is hampered by the phenomena of projected resistance...where our own laziness to change—backed by a good dose of anger and self-hatred—is projected onto the vast hoards of ignorant masses—whereupon we insist that they wake up and change so that we feel that we can accomplish the necessary changes with ease. This projection of the need to change needs to be studied so that language and pathways out of this quagmire can be established. It is of course infinitely easier to just change ourselves and to give up trying to save the world...thereby building self-respect and relieving the terrible tension of evangelism, martyrdom and Messianic Complex.

• Lack of Cosmic Roots—Since the world still largely operates on original sin, cup-half-empty, and power-over, we must center our self-worth and emotional equilibrium in a frequency of cosmic well-being and Gaian attunement that is transcendent of the human domain and socialization. This is how we can have a positive spiritual awakening while exposed to the negativity in our community and in the current zeitgeist. Through the power of the mind illuminated by the heart we must steer our whole being toward the Light.

• Resistance to Blackening Stage—Every thought and action has a personality and soul...that is why we are called human "beings." We are not one thing, but a being and becoming process. There is a stage of purification during the inner alchemy associated with a period of blackening and decay of that which impedes the light...to become ever more transparent to the spirit fire. If we resist the letting go, die-off and rotting stages we fail to grow to the next step beyond our current adaptation to reality.

Thanks, we needed a fresh post. I'm reading "Managing Life's Energies" by Maria Nemeth, she talks about "monkey mind" and 'incoherence' as semi-automatic forms of resistance to living with integrity. She also has a concept she calls "Trouble at the Border" that describes the blind resistance to change that we often encounter. It's a good read.

Resistance to Blackening Stage: Are you green and growing or ripe and rotting? Once the inertia is countered, then “the seeds that were silent all burst into bloom and decay. The night comes so quiet, and it’s close on the heels of the day.”

"Nigredo, or blackness, in the alchemical sense, means putrefaction, decomposition. By the penetration of the external fire, the inner fire is activated and the matter starts to putrefy. The body is reduced to its primal matter from which it originally arose. This process is also called ‘cooking’. The black earth is closed up in a vessel or flask, and heated.
"Putrefaction is so effective that it destroys the old nature and form of the rotting bodies; it transmutes them into a new state of being to give them a totally new fruit. Everything that has life dies; everything that is dead putrefies and finds a new life." (Pernety, 1758)
On the mythological level, nigredo signifies the difficulties man has to overcome on his journey through the underworld. Nigredo is sometimes called ‘blacker than the blackest black’. Hercules had to accomplish twelve, almost impossible, tasks. The pilgrim traditionally encounters shadows, monsters, demons. In the ancient mysteries the candidates had to undergo difficult, sometimes painful and even dangerous initiation tests.
The Body is to be decomposed, that is one shifts one's awareness to the inner self. The planets are both stages of the process and energies in the body to be transmuted. The Saturn star is black as Saturn reigns over Nigredo. Sun and Moon are the opposites to be united, and fire and air are the elements stimulating the decomposition. The black crow is another symbol for Nigredo. The two birds coming out of the body are the soul and the spirit. One needs to become aware of one's soul and spirit. The circle emphasizes the idea of union or unification.
In alchemy, one of the symbols of nigredo is the ‘decapitation’, and also the ‘raven’s head’ (caput corvi). Those symbols refer to the dying of the common man, the dying of his inner chaos and doubt because he is unable to find the truth in himself. In one of his works, Hercules cleanses the Augias stables. It is the cleansing of all the impurities in oneself.

Psychologically, nigredo is a process of directing oneself to find self-knowledge. A problem is given full attention and reduced to its core. This is not done so much in an intellectual way, but especially by feeling the emotions. By really going into to it, one causes putrefaction, the decomposition of that in which one had been stuck. The confrontation with the inner reality is often painful, and can lead to depression. But once in the depth of the darkness, with the discovery of the seed of the problem, the seed in the ‘prima materia’, the white light is born (=albedo, whiteness, the next phase). A state of rest arises. Insight into the problem has been gained, it has been worked out emotionally, and knowledge arises on how to handle it in a more positive way and to build a more pure attitude."

Although it does have its cognitive component...the blackening, purification, fermentation occurs at the atomic/subatomic level...when we have run to the end of the caterpillar state or the "energy of accumulation" of knowledge, things, experience and defenses. We are then dismantled from the inside out like some pupa undergoing metamorphosis on route to the emergence of the butterfly. Individuals go through these alchemical stages, as do families, civilizations and species.

A successful blackening stage is important to the emergence of the sovereign self. For unless we face the self-hating cultural processes that are causing us to self-destruct with soul-suppressing addictions (smoking, pizza, alcohol, drugs etc…) then we will never have enough purified energy to rise above the flatland-cocoon stage and so we stagnate in a lifetime of depression and soul-betrayal. Because we are so demineralized and occluded it takes tremendous commitment and energy to break through and incarnate the soul.

"Finding within myself a powerful adversary, namely, the desire that belong to the flesh and blood, I began to fight a hard battle against my corrupted nature, and with the aid of God I made up my mind to overcome the inherited evil will, to break it, and to enter wholly into the love of God. I therefore then and there  resolved to regard myself as one dead in my inherited form, until the spirit of God would take form in me, so that in and through Him I might conduct my life." Jacob Boehme, p. 118, The Emerald Tablet, Dennis William Hauck

“Emotional well-being and relative freedom from destructive inner turmoil are directly proportional to energy and substance used in the service of compassion.” P.5, Compassion and Self Hate: An Alternative to Despair by Theodore I. Rubin. This must be the definitive book on the subject of self-hate, so though it is the most important factor to overcome on the road to sovereignty I will leave it up to Theodore to cover this aspect for me.

Sovereignty is about making a coherent connection between the metaphysical and physical worlds. If this connection is broken, then action is misguided and thoughts are ungrounded. Thought that’s not connected to any action is just a daydream and action without thought is a more like a nightmare. Seems like for most people the metaphysics needs work first. They need to accept and understand that the physical world is a perfect reflection of the metaphysical world. So that if it seems like the physical world is all fouled up and makes no sense, then really the problem is metaphysical. That is, the world appears all wrong because the metaphysical models employed are faulty. Because always; the physical and metaphysical worlds are perfect reflections of one another.

For example toxic pollution causes all kinds of problems but these problems are not considered as important to people as having a job and living a high-tech lifestyle. So we get more and more of it and hardly anyone will focus on it until they get cancer. But even then they don’t usually realize the underlying metaphysical component that led to the problem.

THE ROLE OF THE SOVEREIGN EVOLUTIONARY
There are infinite levels of attunement to the metaphysical fabric of the universe...depending on the alignment of the heart-morality with rationallogicability and intelligence. This mystic or gnostic illumination is the true spirituality...beyond that which can be taught. After the initial eurekas/satoris/samadhis this kind of mystic unification with the cosmos is not interested in spirituality as a thing in itself...which makes it a "thing" separate. Mystic attunement, as far as I can tell, usually has some scientific, artistic or practical revelatory focus that is tapped directly into the intelligence of the universe itself. The perfection of the information gathered through mystic union has the potential to increase exponentially in its truth and beauty. Not so however if we fail to purify and strengthen the physical machinery of gnosis...the body and Gaia.
The so-called patriarchal religious movements killed the budding gnosticism of the Gaian-pantheists when religion began to be used politically and militarily as a control mechanism to accumulate power and property toward the top of the social pyramid. To speed the growth and "recovery" of gnosticism we could create living-learning institutes and communities in which visionary gnosticism and self-origination was the founding intention. But to do this we would have to eliminate the social, emotional and technical disease patterns which hold humanity back in the Flatland slave mode of consumer reality. My lifetimes work is towards establishing a global civilization based on mystic unification. Of course I won't actually see it happen in the few years remaining till I leave the planet, but I can see the small steps we are collectively taking towards this end.

The alphabet is a pantheon. Each letter is a character. That is, a personality, a deity, a flavour of Chi, a thoughtform- whichever you prefer. The letter “A” for example is a lady with a scale and a sword; Justice, by name. Note how when you say the phrase ‘a cat’ versus just the word ‘cat’ how the letter ‘a’ has cut away(with the sword) one single animal from all possible animals and weighed the item against the traits of other animals (with the scale) in order to determine that it’s ‘a cat.’

The dream only needs to be articulated properly. That way, a whole cast of characters are automatically enlisted to help. Articulation sets up a whole cast of actors and sets them on a stage and gives them a script. They do the rest. This is why they talk about “the name of god” having the power of god himself. But just one letter out of place and the whole production potentially falls apart, or at least takes longer to attain the climax, denouement and resolution.

  • Overstepping

There are things in life we can affect and other things that we cannot. When we try to affect things that are out of our range of influence, we waste energy. Further, we not only end up with less energy but also less influence than we would otherwise have, especially if we are thrown off balance.

Sovereignty is about knowing your limitations and honoring them. Patience and prudence lead to a slow accumulation of energy that eventually allows for a person to affect things that were previously out of reach. Reaching for too much influence, too soon, often robs people of their sovereignty. People who make the most of the influence they have are given more. People who reach for more influence too soon, lose some of the influence that they already had.

Here is the rest of them so far....there are zillions of these things....

• Dissociative Abstraction—The ultimate electromagnetic healing device is the human heart. And yet we go through all manner of ordeals, privations, expense and lengths to try and heal ourselves and others with gadgets, pills and ministrations…while the secret healer (wholer) lies within us all along. I think it best to go back to natures healing energies prior to man’s inventions...which are always a little or a lot OFF and scewed with agendas and ulterior motives.

• Judgment Armageddon Phobia—Children brought up under authoritarian rule who are not given license to a will or spirit of their own, but remain as extensions of their parents ego…forever subliminally anticipate judgment, punishment and injustice lorded upon them out of a need for some sense of control and heightened reality. That is, if we have not fully claimed our “center” we forever desire to be led, fed, told what to do, controlled and abused…representing an unconscious lust for prepubescent victimhood.

• Self-Abusive Superego—The shadow parents within may be willing us to endure the closure of culture into a fascist regime and the rape, pillage and plunder of humanity and the planet by Big-Farming, Big-Pharma, Big-Oil, Big-GMO, and Big-Chemo. But this will never happen if we can dig deep within our dark shadowed nature to root out all that is standing in the way of our eternally sovereign soul.

• Misplaced Need For Guidance—We will be ruled by shadow authorities to the degree that we are ruled by shadow parents within that infuse our experience with a deeply embedded sense of self-hate, guilt, shame and fear of punishment. We do not even need to have had tyrannical parents to harbor within us a censor that is righteousness, dictatorial, self-diminishing, self-doubting, critical and cruel. To give ourselves a break we need to remember the insubstantial and supercilious nature of the critical ego/superego and that it is our own worst enemy.

• Depersonalization and Blockage of Flow—It is "punitive" judgment that is the damaging agent for it stops the flow of Eros and the unity between inner and outer. Predatory authoritarian systems create depersonalization and dissociation, and lead to a loss of sovereignty unless the status-anaesthetization chemistry is fought against and the soul establish despite invasive forces. Life is a sovereign flow from Source. So whenever we are stagnant, stuck or regressing as individuals or cultures, there is some aspect of sovereignty we have failed to address. Eros and Muse that is not allowed to flow freely turns to cancer, self-hatred, anxiety, depression, addiction and the collapse of body, mind, soul, community…and ultimately the collapse of civilization.

• Spiritual Escapism—Forget about spirituality as such...it is a red herring. Consider remineralization, rawfood, exercise, right-livelihood, community building, permaculture, art, philosophy and science...then spirituality is taken care of naturally without any unnatural focus. That is, focus on the causes of our physical, mental, emotional pain...and then we are bought into alignment spiritually. We tend to use spiritual ideology as an aspirin instead of doing the actual work of living a human life that needs to be done. Inspiring Teachers on youtube include David Wolfe, Gabriel Cousens, Brian Clement, Nassim Haramein, Dan Winter, Andrew Faust, David Holgrem.

• Spiritual Immunity—Spiritual immunity is composed of physical, emotional and social immunity and is key to centering and self-direction. Few people are born with a strong sense of it, but it can be achieved by mindful intent, dearmoring and deconstriction of the flow of light (communication/communion). Spiritual immunity is the experience of high states of love, centeredness, certainty, self-confidence, clarity, peace, enjoyment, humorousness and playfulness. Immunics involves releasing reactivity to other people’s opinions (vibes) in order to "create the new" and experience the pure unadulterated Self, heightened stress relief, self-value and self-validation.

• Fear of Ridicule—Exclusion from the house of power is a profound subconscious fear, which is laid into the primary wiring playing off the fear of abandonment by parents. Anthropogenic meta-awareness defuses the hypnotic power of the attack machine that is set up to impose consensus reality. Sovereignty, if you will, is similar to the opposite of borderline disorder...and BLD is caused largely by PTSD. So sovereignty is the reclamation of Self above and beyond the damage inflicted by present, past and future sociological dangers. Hence the Golden Rule.

• Silence in the Morgue—It feels disrespectful to the Muse to even try to express ones creative process...because even we don't know how it is done, though we are given a taste of why it is done. We sense the derision of Flatlanders and those that would “kill” the perception and expression of a higher, deeper, unfathomable reality…and so silence and the patient execution of our Art, “regardless” of its acceptable in the world, is the safest option to keep in the land of the Borg. The path of the muse is the realization of our hidden potential.

• Buoyant Boundaries—When sovereign we do not define ourselves as the opposite of that which we don't like. We just want to get on with creativity, construction, exploration, and adventure... Interest in what the other guys are doing drops off, the fight goes out, indignation and rebellion are no more. Only building of the ever new becomes important. Live and let live within the Multiplicity. It is a waste of energy to describe how we are different from the other guy…sovereign energy wants to move with more constructive intent.

•Unrealistic Expectations of Acceptance—In a world of professional protectionism, outer authority, and hierarchically condoned power and control, we can seldom give our gift or speak our truth without attracting ridicule and incredulity. For once people have lost touch with their senses and psi, and are disconnected from soul, Gaia and cosmos they look to badges of orthodoxy from the power-pyramid for evidence as to what to "trust" as truth. It is usually pointless trying to casually enlighten those caught in the matrix maze with the products of one's original thought and Muse, because they are not yet familiar with their own divine inspiration or self-origination. Instead it is better to put together a package of applied truth within a creative project or performance and present that as a polished artifact...a reasonably finished ideogram. Then to step back and distance oneself from the audience response, and to find social satisfaction and support within ones own meme family, without placing unrealistic expectations on the uninitiated masses.

• Prejudice Rules Until It Doesn’t—“The fear of the unfamiliar combined with any sense at all of vulnerability must produce at least some small, however minimal prejudice.” 195, Compassion and Self Hate, by Theodore I. Rubin. A societal structure based on external confirmation of self-worth must be fear based. Just as in primate tribes, fear based societies are organized through difference, separation, exclusion, socio-economic clicks and prejudice. Only when we are initiated into post-animal, spiritual or compassionate awareness can we rise above these automated programs of fear and prejudice.

Nice. I read a great idea for a practice based on the golden rule: Write down a list of all the things that people did to you that really pissed you off. Make a vow to never do those things to other people. Now, make a list of things that people have done for you that were really kind and that made your day. Make a vow to yourself to do those same things for others as often as you can.

I still fall into the indignation trap from time to time. But I've made some great strides in this area.

As for this: "The fear of the unfamiliar combined with any sense at all of vulnerability must produce at least some small, however minimal prejudice.” I would go further: The primary function of knowledge is the formation of prejudice. We pre-judge the circumstances based on our knowledge of trends and past events. To remedy this: Rigid universal rules should be shunned, treated as poetic metaphors. Only wisdom can mitigate this pitfall of knowledge.

Do you have a working definition of wisdom? Just curious.

Sure...
Wisdom is having enough money to force people to be nice to you and to enjoy yourself in order to get revenge on them for being assholes. Riches are the first and last consolation price/prize for having to live on  a planet with a bunch of crazy apes. In this world money is God, and therefore money is wisdom. pray cigar

I can talk about wisdom in realms other than our current manifest world though, but that would be a fiction story.

HELP! there are too many pitfalls to sovereignty. I want them to stop. Tongue

A hate of self-origination itself is propagated by a type of angry fascist paranoia, or fear of thinking outside of the conventional established program.

• Blaming “Them”—Disempowerment through finding the source of ones failure to be outside of the self in the form of an “-ism” “-itis” or “them.” Often we use external figments as excuses for not pushing into and through our fear of success. It is far easier to complain and blame than it is to do what it takes to manifest our dreams and realize our hidden potential. Blaming is an act of self-abandonment and denial. When we are unsovereign we tend to blame others for our problems and how we feel, as a means of protecting ourselves from the unconscious pain of the core wound of self-abdication and having to do something about it.

Yea frequent, passionate attacks on others is a sure sign of emotional insecurity. Bring everybody down to the same level that represents one's own self hate. "I hate myself but at least I'm not worse than these others, they should hate themselves too, here's why..." Lowest common denominator. The press endlessly feeds on this tendency.

Wisdom to me is the process that insures proper ordering and prioritizing of knowledge. It's meta-knowledge. Knowledge is a commodity, wisdom is process. As JFK said "We have guided missiles and misguided men" In other words; knowledge is no substitute for wisdom and is, rather, extremely dangerous without it. Knowledge can be transmitted, but wisdom cannot.

"A hate of self-origination itself is propagated by a type of angry fascist paranoia, or fear of thinking outside of the conventional established program."

as usual, a good sense notion goes haywire. The perfect is often the enemy of the good. The cure is sometimes worse than the disease. This leads to: we must resist all change, which is absurd of course but since it's subconscious it never get evaluated objectively

Some people in this country are making intellectual and spiritual gains...I just don't know them personally in person.

Wisdom is intelligence of the heart.
Knowledge is intelligence of the brain.

Using your ideas, I worked up a few of my own 'versions.'  Hope you like them.

• Self-Pity—A serious impediment to sovereignty is the self-pity. This arises from a view of the self that does not line up with one’s metaphysical ideals of what a person should be; how they should act, think, feel or look. This is often projected outward and often elicits a series of plaintive railings against ‘perceived’ (but actually projected) flaws in the outside world.

•Herd Mentality—This involves blind loyalty to social mores, which robs a person of their range of expression, their range of thought, their range of options, etc. The herd ‘rewards’ its exemplars with money, sex, adulation and other goodies. Most people wouldn’t dream of abandoning these things except as exhibiting stark, raving insanity. The few who investigate the price paid for these things realize that the soul is on the line and they willingly risk the loss of these goodies.

• Entrenched Servile Superego- the herd mentality gets internalized. We no longer need external rewards and punishments to keep us thinking herd thoughts and obeying herd rules. We now have inner stockpiles of shame and guilt that we pour on ourselves. We’ve accepted the herd’s corrupted metaphysics as Truth. Once the self is fully grounded in herd values, all vitality drains out of the soul, while essence is denied oxygen and goes into dormancy.

• Paranoid Delusion- once the inner and outer worlds are locked into perpetual misalignment, a pervasive sense that the world is conspiring against any and all of our initiatives takes hold.

This recent article by Paul Levy is a good if ponderous read:

The unconscious elements that Levy is so concerned about, the ones that ‘possess’ people are just artifacts of human experience in the form of congealed psychic/emotional energy and they are located in the Akashic record. Much like fossils that have survived for millennia via the process of petrification, these thoughtforms reflect a bygone era. They are not likely to be perfectly appropriate for the present time, perhaps they were never appropriate. This is merely a subjective judgment call. I would argue that there is nothing ‘inhuman’ about being unconsciously under the influence of these thoughtforms, as Levy implies. In the light of cosmic unity, nothing is inhuman. Rationality is only of value in the service of a thoughtform, it’s useless without an outside agenda because, by definition, rationality has no agenda of its own. Clearly, Mr. Levy himself is under the influence of a paranoid thoughtform. His thesis is: the whole world going to hell because we're all  possessed by demons. It's new age 'fire and brimstone' if you ask me.

Quote
Paranoia is a thought process characterized by excessive anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs concerning a perceived threat towards oneself.
Specifically, they have been defined as containing two central elements:
1.   The individual thinks that harm is occurring, or is going to occur,
2.   The individual thinks that the persecutor has the intention to cause harm.
Paranoia is often associated with psychotic illnesses, sometimes schizophrenia, although attenuated features may be present in other conditions such as (delusional parasitosis); that the person is on a special quest or has been chosen by God (or another deity); that the person has had thoughts inserted or removed from conscious thought; or that the person's actions are being controlled by an external force.
The term paranoia was used to describe a mental illness in which a delusional belief is the sole or most prominent feature. In his original attempt at classifying different forms of mental illness, Kraepelin used the term pure paranoia to describe a condition where a delusion was present, but without any apparent deterioration in intellectual abilities and without any of the other features of dementia praecox, the condition later renamed schizophrenia. ~ Edited excerpts from Wiki
The article has a certain alarmist tone. He seems to be convinced that the whole world is at stake and that we must act decisively, in concert, now.
