Note the generally neo-fascist, racist, anti-Semitic (Semitic as in all Mid-Easterners), arch-Christian, and xenophobic tone of the publication; full-spectrum Borg style yellow journalism.

"This acid rain/ fungus/ bacteria is not just effecting small plots of crops, or a few trees. Every single tree, plant, plot of crop, building, car, etc, is being affected by this, and not just in memphis. I have friends in middle Mississippi that are having the same problems except worse, entire trees are dyeing off, birds are falling out of the sky, cars are rusting.

its not just oil its the dispersant that is oxidizing everything, that and the sulfuric acid will corrode all the bridges and structures as well. Well if you are going to stay...then I suggest you get involved with some local action group be it Permaculture, Venus project, ORMUS group, Green Peace, or whatever. There is much that can be done to support the human and ecosystem immune system even when faced with such a severe bio-challenge.

Right off some things that come to mind include using medical mushrooms internally and mushrooms for soil remediation. Fungi Perfecti: the finest mushroom products for home and garden, farm and forest, people and planet
The soil organic matter needs to be increased in order to buffer toxins and support microbial life. Thus the need to find bulk sources of plant material, and mix it with animal manures from pre-spill sources for creating composts and compost teas to apply to the land.
TeraGanix.com  may be a source for health cleanup bacteria.

Increasing soil mineral content by the application of rock dust and seacrop amendments will reduce the leeching, loss of soil organic matter and anti-microbal process that will occur due to toxic acid rain.

Getting some of the permaculture experts such as Darren Doherty, Andrew Faust, Geof Lawton, David Holgrem and Don Weaver onto the job of establishing forestry and riverside replantation is advisable even if the old forests will be dying off. It is important to reestablish some form of land-cover to prevent the wholesale run off of toxic water and erosion into the water catchment systems. All efforts should be focused on preventing the desertification cycle...or it will be very hard to reforest the land once it is desertified.

The containment of the toxins into areas that can be kept from cycling into the global ecosystem is the # priority. I am positive that They will greatly screw up this job as well.

Forget subpoena power BP and Goldman Sacks were Obamas main campaign supporters.
Remember they had pieces of rubber gasket from the blowout preventor coming up out of the well...and they still chose to put salt water in the well and remove the mud. Basically this means that it was deliberate...no one could be that incompetent unless there was a major breakdown in communication across the board.

Considering the way the cards are stacked a Gulf spill commission will not get any further than the damn 911 commission...might as well save the bucks and give em to the fishermen!
