Just watched Restrepo...hope those guys knew what they were doing, and not just playing shoot'em up video games.
To make a stake on a piece of land and wait to get shot at in order to shoot back. Promise the hopes of "jobs" when unemployment plagues ones own home country. The doubtful promise of a paved road, which would destablize the socio-ecology of the valley. They are shooting at an "idea" that they themselves have made up. As the copters were flying about my thought was "where are the Russians?"

As far as professions go, nursing can put a tremendous strain on marriage.
