If scientific reasoning were limited to the logical processes of arithmetic, we should not get very far in our understanding of the physical world. One might as well attempt to grasp the game of poker entirely by the use of the mathematics of probability. ~ Vannevar Bush

Today's play.  My first iMovie bit.  I put lipstick on my nipples for the occasion, but had to put my shirt back on due to a drafty window. Grin

Yeah Jim, just testing out the iSight cam on the MacBook Pro.  It'll take some tweaking to get the kind of sounds that I want (for this one, I recorded into my 8-track, which was plugged into the computer).  I'm trying to motivate myself to play more often, and I thought maybe getting back to regular "Dustcasts" would light a fire.  Thanks for checking it out.

This isn't homespun art work, it's mainstream. I thought I would post it for fun as a blast from the past. 1970's

Bob and Daniel,

You´ve both been away too long.  Good to see you back.  And where are the Heartmind women?  Where is Tiki-Liz?

Hey Marianthi,

Thanks for the birthday wish.  Where was I?  I was recovering from knee surgery in NY after injuring myself in Mexico.  I had been there with my wife (doctoral research), but a soccer match gone horribly wrong got me sent home for reconstruction.  As soon as I could walk again I returned to Mexico and spent another several months there.  Presently, I'm back in the US, trying to get settled (my wife will be in Mexico for another month or so).

I hope you and the rest of the HeartMinders are well.  I'll stop by more often.  I miss your company.

As I was fond of doing back in the day, I'll post of couple of my more recent creations:

Godspeed.mp3
The question that eats you like cancer
I have the answer
Are you ready to hear it?

Godspeed through all your dreams
You're such a lonely animal
So spread your seed
Godspeed through all your dreams
You're crawling back from Mexico
On hands and knees
Godspeed through all your dreams
You're finally on the radio
But no one's listening

Clarity came like a storm to my brain
It blew in from the South and blew out of my mouth
in a long string of words never meant to be heard
Only seen in the sky like the Fourth of July
All the red and blue lights like the stars in the night
must all come to fade with the dawn of the day

Breakthrough.mp3

I woke to the birds and the best of intentions.
I tried every way I knew to express them.
I get on the train and it's taking me somewhere
Away from myself...
Away from this cell.

But I can't get away from you.
I lock all the doors but you still break through.

Where did the time go?  How did I get home?
When did I get old?  Show me the slideshow.
Somebody told me: "It's all as it should be."
So I'll keep on hiding, just so you can find me.

But I can't get away from you.
I lock every door but you still break through.

Bob,

Hijole, nice feet and poems!   Strange, but only a couple of days ago I was thinking of you and wondering if you had come up on any studies about internet use on some forms of psychosis - in a positive sense.   And then I see here both you and MichaelD´s post about the use of internet.

What´s your line of work/interest now?

Good to have you back.
  wave

Marianthi.

Marianthi,

I guess I'm in the process of figuring out the "work" question.  I'm looking to "retire" from the mental health field, at least as a direct care person.  I'm really burned out.  I'd like to teach, maybe Psychology at the community college level, but I haven't been able to find a position as of yet.  I also want to finish my training in a bodywork modality called "Hanna Somatic Education," but that too will take a couple more years and a lot of money.  So for now I'm just working temp jobs and looking around for opportunities.  My wife is almost done with graduate school, and once she gets a job, I can relax a little and focus on my own goals a little more.

What are you up to lately?

.

Bob, I looked up the Hanna training.  It looks like it covers in a well systematized way what I´ve been studying for years through other fields.  I´ll be sending you an inquiery about it on the side ...if I find out how.

As well as the endless reconstruction of my house I´m presently teaching Therapeutic Yoga, giving talks on the psychology of Yoga  and spending plenty of time dazed under the spell of ONE who has come my way.  Cry

Hugs,
Marianthi.

So I woke up from a nap yesterday, shuffled into my little studio, and dazedly recorded this little song before it drifted back into the ether:

Goodbye Allison.mp3
